DANIEL TAKES A TRAIN
The career of London band Daniel Takes A Train was supposed to end in the summer of 1988, when the band put down their guitars and, like everyone else, joined the party in Ibiza.
Decades on, the original founding members find themselves with a new album to promote: Last Ticket To Tango. The album, engineered by veteran producer Pat Collier (Katrina and the Waves, Primal Scream) features a collection of new songs written by the band following their re-discovery in 2018 by German independent label Firestation Records. Think classic indie pop fused with new wave and 1980’s electro pop influences.
Despite the recent lack of live action, the five-piece have been busy since their reunion, returning to the studio to record a cover of the Al Stewart classic Year of the Cat and releasing successful dance and electro remixes of their album tracks. Their last single Sleeping With The Enemy, a catchy ska/pop contender for the next Bond theme, has been streamed over 15,000 times winning them new fans from as far afield as Brazil, Mexico, Turkey and Russia.
