Project Culture
Meta, self-deprecating, and occasionally earnest, Project Culture began at Queen Mary University in London, where singer/songwriter Gary Hill started a music society that hosted live music nights at the university's student bar and at pubs in the area. The society helped create a close-knit group of music lovers, and through these friendships, the band formed. The Indie Rock 4-piece is inspired by The Smiths, The Strokes, Pixies, and The Velvet Underground, with Gary citing Car Seat Headrest and Father John Misty as his biggest lyrical influences, valuing their ability to be both ironic and moving within the same song.
Though the new line-up has only been together since late 2019, they’ve already had 3 of their songs played on BBC Introducing, with their debut single Character Actor being lauded for its “post-punk energy and the sense of urgency in the songwriting”.
Shannon
Shannon is an independent female singer/songwriter whose soulful vocals and tender lyrics capture all things heartfelt. Taking the lead with an acoustic guitar, she holds words that speak honest and true. The topics she covers sit between a personal diary entry and an intimate heart to heart with a trusted friend. All of this is wrapped into soundscapes of melodies and harmonies mixed with silky smooth basslines.
The Kid and I is a London based Alternative Rock music artist created by singer-songwriter Jacob Powell in 2020. Blending pop rock with introspective lyrics, and an array of influences from Foo Fighters to Elliot Smith - The Kid and I explores hard hitting subjects accompanied by catchy melodies and upbeat rhythms.
