‘Full of femme fatale poise and swooning chanteuse flourishes’ - The Times
'Iraina seizes on the best aspects of the past, blurring those impeccable 60s and 70s influences with a touch of modernity’ - Clash
Following a rapturously received sold-out gig at The Social, Iraina Mancini has announced a live show at The Lexington on 13th July.
Iraina’s current single ‘Cannonball’ is receiving play on both BBC 6Music and Radio 2, and she has recently finished work on her debut album, which Needle Mythology, the label founded by music writer, author and broadcaster Pete Paphides, will release on vinyl and CD in August.
Of ‘Cannonball’, Iraina says, “I wrote it about taking a chance in life and following your heart. I got lost in my head in an action packed, 60s stylish thriller film.” The video for ‘Cannonball’ sees Iraina living out that 60s action film fantast with a healthy dose of tongue in cheek humour. ‘Cannonball’ was co-written by Iraina with Simon Dine (Paul Weller, Candie Payne, Dexys) and produced by Sunglasses for Jaws (Miles Kane) with additional production by Erol Alkan.
