From my first days picking up a guitar, I was always so enamored with the idea of making the same sounds my heroes were making with their instruments. Jimmy Page's "Whole Lotta Love" solo, Mark Knopfler's tone on "Sultans of Swing." In those early days I could barely even play a chord, but the joy of making a sound which even came close was so joyous. Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" has long been a favorite of mine for its rawness and sobering honesty. I've been covering it privately for years. I thought it might be time to share it with others.
