*Happy Hour Concert Series* featuring Gary Brown Quintet 80th Birthday Celebration
Gary Brown is well known internationally as a soulful saxophonist and singer. Born and raised in New Orleans, Gary’s forte is blues, he is equally eloquent in jazz, pop, and gospel. Gary Brown & his breathtaking ensemble Feelings have traveled the world entertaining thousands with his amazing musical appeal and stage presence.
Brown has become a phenomenal voice in the jazz and blues world touring countries such as Brazil, Italy & Austria. He was featured weekly at one of the most exceptional R&B/Jazz Clubs in the world, the legendary 554 Club located on the historical Bourbon Street in the heart of The French Quarter for decades. His repertoire includes a long listing of collaborations including work with Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, Joe Cocker, the Bee Gees, Dr. John, Irma Thomas, Wilson Pickett, and many more.
In addition, he recorded the instrumental soundtrack, "Alone At The Drive In Movie" for the motion picture "Grease," starring John Travolta. Gary Brown started his own label Gabbro Records, and has released several solo projects including “Welcome to New Orleans,” “My Heaven,” “The Key,” “Blues on Bourbon,” “Gary Brown & Feelings: Doin’ It Live,” “ Ms. Magic,""More Love, ” and his effort dedicated to the rebuilding of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina “Coming Home.”
For this performance, we join forces alongside the Jazz Foundation of America to celebrate Gary’s 80th Birthday.

This is a free performance with no ticketing. Seating is on a first come-first served basis.
